Emotional wellness for seniors is the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and adapt to change. Maintaining emotional wellness after 60 can reduce stress and boost mental health. Discover what being emotionally balanced means, and how it can help you lead a fulfilling life.

Vardaan Senior Living Prioritizes the well-being of every resident in all aspects. Vardaan Senior living organizes different wellness programs from time to time in which Experts of different Specialization guide and nurture wellness in our senior residents.

Emotional Balance Programme with Dr. Ishita Mukerji held from 24th September – 27 September 2022 in Vardaan Premises. All 4 days are pre-planned to execute all activities related to this session. With the help of our dedicated activity manager and our helpdesk team, we can make this program successful. Different days come up with different activities, which are helpful for this session. Emotional management, Stress management, stress relief, stress balance, Movement therapy, art & craft, One-one discussions with all the residents are all part of this program.

Some of the brief details of the program are shared, and these activities are useful for all seniors. These all help to manage emotional and mental wellness. All four days settled with different activities which are detailed below. Before that let’s know about Dr.Ishita Ji.

About DR. ISHITA MUKERJI

She is an Internationally Renowned psychologist & Senior Care Expert)
With a vast experience of over 10 years of, Dr. Ishita Mukerji is an internationally renowned Psychologist and an editorial board member of the American Journal Of Health Research. She is an associate counselor with the World mental healthcare association & Counsellors Council of India. Her expertise lies in relationship, marriage, geriatrics, adult, child, and family counseling. She is an accomplished life skill and a corporate trainer. She has successfully formulated and organized many psychology-oriented programs on various platforms. She is also a Jury Member & personality coach for various modeling and beauty pageants. She has been associated with various prestigious hospitals, clinics, schools, senior care institutions, media houses, and corporates.

Day 1st (MENTAL WELLNESS WORKSHOP)

Activity 1- Group Assessment

The purpose of this process is to assess the medical, psychosocial, and functional abilities of older adults in order to develop an integrated plan designed to maximize their overall health as they age.

Activity 2 – Stress Management Strategies & Techniques

Stress management strategies help seniors to better deal with stress and difficulty (adversity) in their life.

Activity 3 – Psychoeducation Session

In order to achieve better results, mental health professionals and patients must work together to provide all the information they need about the illness and its treatment.

Day 2nd & 3rd (Special Sessions)

Activity 1- One on One Counselling Session with Residents

Emotional problems can be effectively handled through counseling. These changes can be confronted and accepted through counseling.

Activity 2 – Mental health checkup of residents

The way we think, feel, and act is affected by it. Additionally, it affects how we handle stress, relate to others, and make decisions. In childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, mental health is important.

Activity 3 – Therapeutic Intervention

This help to meet older adults’ social needs through active participation, respect, stimulation of social contacts, and knowledge sharing.

Activity 4 – Expressive Art Therapy

Older adults are likely to benefit from this program in terms of cognitive function, memory, self-esteem, and reduced stress.

Activity 5 – Music Therapy

The relaxation helps the participants to calm their heart rate and lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol. Seniors feel calmer and more capable of relaxing as a result of the effect.

Activity 6 – Deep relaxation exercises

The primary benefit of deep breathing is the reduction of stress in your body and the lowering of your heart rate.

Day 4 – Group Therapeutic Session

Activities- Group therapy refers to the treatment of more than one patient at the same time by one or more healthcare professionals. A variety of conditions can be treated with this drug, including but not limited to emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Seniors will be able to maintain good health, improve their posture and muscle strength, gain better balance and coordination, and feel less stressed as a result of it.

This 4-day session is done only for vardaan residents, all the residents get engaged and find themselves happier and more peaceful.
